Alexander Stuart

Alexander Kyle (Sandy) Stuart was a recognized Canadian and global authority on hydrogen generation and the use of hydrogen as an environmental friendly fuel. A talented engineering inventor and advocate for the natural environment and sustainable energy, his many career accomplishments include:
  • Co-founding The Electrolyser Corporation Ltd. in 1948. The company subsequently became Stuart Energy Systems and led to the sale of some 1,000 electrolytic hydrogen plants in 100 countries.
  • Creating innovations in hydrogen energy technology, such as the design of the world’s largest water electrolysis cell and implementation of multiple hydrogen energy systems including renewable energy storage and fueling systems for cars and buses.
  • Serving as the Chair of Export Development Canada, the Nature Conservatory of Canada, the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters Association, and the Canadian Hydrogen Association.
