Dr. David Sanborn Scott

Dr. David Sanborn Scott was a preeminent Canadian energy expert, author of Smelling Land: The Hydrogen Defense Against Climate Catastrophe, and advocate for transitioning to a hydrogen-based economy. Dr. Scott served as Vice-President of the International Association for Hydrogen Energy and founded the University of Victoria's Institute for Integrated Energy Systems. In 2006, he became the first Canadian to receive the Jules Verne Award for his contributions to hydrogen physics, energy sociology, and philosophy. Dr. taught at the University of Toronto for 22 years, where he chaired mechanical engineering and founded the Institute for Hydrogen Systems.
