Peel Region joins the CHA as new member

Oct, 1 2026

The Canadian Hydrogen Association (CHA) is pleased to welcome Peel Region as a new member.

The Region of Peel is one of Canada’s largest municipalities, serving nearly 1.6 million residents in Brampton, Mississauga, and Caledon. Peel delivers a wide range of essential public services, including waste management, water and wastewater services, public health, housing, and transportation-related operations. Through its heavy-duty municipal fleet and commitment to climate action, Peel is actively exploring innovative technologies that can support reliable service delivery while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

“Peel Region looks forward to working with the Canadian Hydrogen Association and its members to exchange knowledge, build partnerships, and explore emerging technologies that can support waste reduction, resource recovery and broader climate goals,” says Kelly Sousa-Dias, Director, Waste Management at Peel Region. “Collaboration will be essential as communities work toward a more sustainable future.”
