The Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (CHFCA) Announces Rebrand to Canadian Hydrogen Association (CHA)

Apr, 23 2024

EDMONTON, AB, April 23, 2024 – The Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (CHFCA) is pleased to announce that it has changed its name to the Canadian Hydrogen Association (CHA).  The new name reflects the growth and expansion of the association while promoting the diversity of the industry, academic, end-user, government, and research stakeholders that comprise Canada’s world-class hydrogen sector.

“Our new name reflects our members’ expanded reach and depth across the hydrogen value chain throughout Canada,” says Ivette Vera-Perez, President and CEO of the CHA. “It aligns with our goal to present a strong, unified voice for the Canadian hydrogen sector on both federal and international stages, while maintaining a solid local presence through our affiliate structure.”

In addition to the new name, the Association has adopted a new brand identity and logo. The new brand represents the latest chapter of the association, whose roots date back 50 years. As the Voice of the Sector, the association works to raise awareness of the economic and environmental benefits of hydrogen and accelerate commercial adoption of Canadian hydrogen technologies and services domestically and overseas.

“The clarity and simplicity of the Canadian Hydrogen Association’s new name belies the complexity and dynamism of the organizations behind it,” says Christopher Norris, Chair of the CHA. “The CHA’s members have placed Canada among global leaders in hydrogen innovation, and the Association will continue to advocate for these leaders in Canada and internationally under its new brand.”

The launch of the new brand was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony during the Canadian Hydrogen Convention (CHC) in Edmonton.  The CHA would like to thank members Accelera by Cummins, Hydrogen Optimized, Imperial Oil, Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership, Siemens Canada, and Siemens Energy Canada for their generous sponsorship and support of the brand launch.
