The CHA announces Powertech Labs as first Premier Member

The Canadian Hydrogen Association is pleased to announce Powertech as our first Premier Member of the year, marking an important milestone for both organizations and for Canada’s hydrogen sector.

Powertech Labs is an independent commercial subsidiary of BC Hydro, is recognized globally as a leader in hydrogen infrastructure and testing of high-pressure hydrogen fuel systems, storage and components. With a team of 250 scientists, engineers, technicians and specialists, Powertech has spent over two decades advancing the technologies that underpin the safe deployment of hydrogen across transportation and infrastructure. Powertech is the leading station technology provider in Canada with over 90% of existing operating stations across Canada.

Since 2001, Powertech has designed and constructed turnkey compressed hydrogen fueling stations across North America, while operating one of the world’s most comprehensive hydrogen testing facilities for fuel systems, components, storage and stations. Their work spans advanced fueling protocols, fast-fill testing reaching over 370 grams per second, and station design for light-, medium-, heavy-duty, and super-heavy-duty applications – laying the technical foundation required to scale hydrogen mobility safely with high reliability.

Powertech will also be an official sponsor for the CHA’s British Columbia Hydrogen Advocacy Day in Victoria on March 4.
